Excursion Luxor and Dendera from 1Premierguide is an opportunity to visit the important historical temples themselves in one day.
Dendera is the center of the cult of the goddess Hathor. Her temple was built during the reign of the last Ptolemies and has been well preserved to this day.
Under the temple are buildings from previous eras, some of which are as old as the pyramids.
The temple complex of Dendera contains a large hall with 24 columns, each of which depicts the goddess Gator (Heaven). The ceiling of the building is decorated with astronomical pictures, and the walls are decorated with images of a visit to the king’s temple. On the roof in the sanctuaries of Osiris (the god of rebirth) were found the solar disk and the well-known zodiac. Also in the temple, among the numerous images, there is a picture with lamps, very similar to modern discharge lamps.
